down the memory lane

I still remember our (98 batch) sent off function . It was an emotional and sentimental atmosphere and all were showering blessings and love on us. When my turn came for a thanks giving reply, the words I uttered is crystal clear even after years. I had a passion towards the golden yellow flowers of Cassia fistula, our kani konna which stood very near to my classroom. So i couldnt avoid her in my reply. That why i said varshangal kadannu poyalum, ritukkal mari mari vannalum,ee kalalayathile puthia kootukarum adhyapakarum njangala marannalum ritubhedangal ellathe pookkunna ee kani konna njangala varavelkum ennariyam. But it was touching or even hurt the feelings of somebody. That i understood when one of our beloved teachers repeated my words in many occasions and assure me that no no we wont forget you all. And he kept his word even after years we met .

A tribute to Patricia Narayan

Patricia Narayan is the award winner of buisiness woman of the year. Her life story is quite known to most of the people now, since it came in rediff , too step discussions all. She is a woman from a middle class christian family who loved a brahmin and married him. But he was a drug abuser and there starts the miseries of Patricia. Domestic violence accompanied by poverty and to look after two kids is more than enough for a woman to end life. But Patricia is an extra ordinary woman who ignited a fire in herself from all these miseries and hardships. She started preparing eateries with a capital of one or two hundred rupee notes borrowed from her mother. From there she began her life of smart work which earned success to her. Now she is the owner of a chain of restaurants. But fate again played a bad game and took her daughter and son in law through an accident. In their memmory Patricia runs an ambulance service for the accident victims. This is the story of Patricia in a nut shell. But the years of intolerable sufferings is not as short as my description. What i need to emphasis is the words Patricia said about her success. Its nothing but she said she had a FIRE in her which made her move forward inspite of all unfavourable circumstances. This is what the present generation is lacking i think. When anything happens against their will or plan, they become agitated, frustrated and desperate. The emotional quotient and tolerance level is too low. Its quite difficult to face and manage failures than to get success. Here comes the relevance of Patricia who transformed all failures and sufferings into the fire element. She emphasise the fact that freedom of woman is strongly influenced by the economic freedom which one should acquire and that contribute to the empowerment of women.

Loneliness

Loneliness
A word I own
The world where I am the king
Creator of nostalgic feelings
In an ectasic mood.

Loneliness
Elixir to my life
Vent to my dreams
Depresions
The space to blossom
My soft
Immature senses of creativity.

Loneliness
A mixture of illusions
The sky where i fly
Spreading colours to thoughts
A realm of peace and tranquility.

Serenity of life

I just turned and walked
Through the sands of life
Still he is close enough
When I was a child
I didn't notice him
In my teens
Was hooked in his claws
Made myself busy
Caring and serving others
But i smelt him near me
From which i never move away.
At night when i closed
My doors and windows
He was inside my room
Flying to and fro dreadly.
I was frantic and cried
Then he sat beside me
Consoled and made me know
His craving for me
Walking with him through
The beautiful beaches of Portoroz
I, and my silent friend
Walked through
The serenity of life.
